Sharing Cultures

Over the last month the whole of the Second Grade at New Town have been looking into their cultural backgrounds and sharing it with their classes.  One of the activities was to fill out a cultural resume about themselves.  Next each student were given two cut outs of a person. On one side they had to dress their cut out in their national costume and on the other, 5 facts about their culture or cultures.

Each class shared their own cultural cut outs.  Some students enjoyed finding out more about where they came from.

To complete our study we invited parents to share their cultures to the class.  The parents did a fantastic job presenting the Second Grade about their cultures.  Parents bought in artifacts to show the students and showed pictures and information on their powerpoint presentations.
